Terms of Use
The terms that apply to the AuDHD Companion website, installed web app and subscriptions.
Terms Of Use
Last updated: 6 August 2026 | Version 2.2
1. Who these terms are between
AuDHD Companion is operated by AuDHD Companion, ABN 94 677 883 739. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) form an agreement between you and that Australian business, based in Victoria, Australia (“AuDHD Companion”, “we”, “us” or “our”). They apply when you visit audhdcompanion.com or a domain that redirects to it, create an account, use the web app, install it on your device, access the Knowledge Hub or purchase a subscription.
By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not create an account or continue using the service. Questions can be sent to hello@audhdcompanion.com.
2. What AuDHD Companion is
AuDHD Companion provides private tools for self-reflection, organisation and general wellbeing. Depending on your plan, features may include daily check-ins, spoons or capacity tracking, journals, a personal toolkit, insights, medication and vitamin records, reports and educational Knowledge Hub content. The public Ask page may help you find editorially approved answers drawn from that Knowledge Hub. Ask search wording is processed in your browser and is not saved to your account. The service can be installed from a supported browser as a web app; it is not currently distributed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Removing the home-screen icon does not delete your account or cancel a subscription.
The service is designed from lived experience. It is not a medical device, healthcare service, diagnostic tool, treatment program, counselling service or emergency service.
3. Adults only
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into an agreement to create an account. AuDHD Companion is not currently designed for children’s accounts. An adult may read public content for their own information, but must not create an account in a child’s name or enter another person’s sensitive information without proper authority and consent.
4. Your account and security
You agree to:
- provide an email address you can access and keep your account details reasonably accurate;
- use a strong password and keep your sign-in details private;
- tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission; and
- use your account for your own personal purposes unless we expressly agree otherwise.
You are responsible for activity you authorise through your account. You are not responsible for unauthorised activity caused by our failure to use reasonable care or by circumstances outside your reasonable control.
5. Your records belong to you
You keep ownership of the journal entries, check-ins, toolkit items, medication records, reflections and other content you enter. You give us a limited permission to store, process, display and back up that content only as needed to operate, secure and improve the features you choose to use.
Most fields are optional. You decide what to record, export and share. You are responsible for checking any report before sharing it and for making sure you have permission to enter information about another person. Our handling of personal information is explained in the Privacy Policy.
6. Fair and acceptable use
Please use AuDHD Companion lawfully and respectfully. You must not:
- try to view, obtain, alter or delete another user’s account or information;
- interfere with the app, security controls, payment controls, hosting systems or network;
- upload malware, harmful code or content that is unlawful or infringes another person’s rights;
- impersonate another person, create fraudulent accounts or provide misleading payment information;
- scrape, copy in bulk, resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the service or Knowledge Hub;
- bypass plan limits, founding-member limits, authentication or subscription controls; or
- reverse-engineer the service except where applicable law expressly allows it.
7. Free and paid plans
A Free account gives access to the features described as free at the time you use them. Premium and Founding Member plans unlock the paid features shown on the Pricing page at the time of purchase. A signed-in account is required before paid checkout so the subscription can be linked to the correct user and paid access can be activated. Choosing a plan while signed out directs you to create or sign in to a Free account first. You are not charged unless you then complete Stripe Checkout. We may add, improve or reorganise features over time.
We will not knowingly describe an unavailable feature as currently included. Features clearly described as “coming soon”, “planned”, “early access” or similar are not guaranteed to launch by a particular date.
8. Subscriptions and automatic renewal
Paid subscriptions are processed securely by Stripe and billed in advance on the monthly or annual cycle you select. Unless you cancel, your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period and Stripe charges the payment method linked to your account.
Prices are displayed in Australian dollars. Any applicable tax will be handled as shown at checkout. We do not receive or store your full card number. You authorise Stripe to process recurring payments for the plan you choose until the subscription is cancelled.
9. Founding Member offers
Founding Monthly and Founding Annual are limited launch offers with separate capacity limits. A place is secured only after checkout is successfully completed. A temporary checkout reservation does not guarantee a place if payment is not completed before that reservation expires.
Your Founding Member subscription price remains at the advertised founding rate while that subscription stays continuously active. Founding status is personal, cannot be transferred, and is not guaranteed to be available again after cancellation, account deletion or a subscription ending because payment could not be completed. Cancelled founding places do not reopen unless we expressly decide otherwise.
10. Cancelling or managing a subscription
You can manage billing and cancel through the Stripe billing portal linked from your Profile. A normal cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period. You keep Premium access until then and should not be charged for a later renewal.
If you cannot access the billing portal, contact us before the next renewal date. Deleting your AuDHD Companion account is different: it cancels an active subscription immediately because your login and private records are removed at the same time. Please read the Data Deletion Policy before deleting.
11. Failed payments and price changes
If a payment fails, Stripe may retry it and we may temporarily limit paid access while the payment remains unresolved. A subscription may end if payment cannot be completed. We will not charge a new payment method unless it has been authorised for your Stripe customer account.
We may change standard subscription prices for future billing periods. If a change affects your existing subscription, we will give reasonable advance notice so you can cancel before the new price takes effect. Founding Member base prices will not be increased while the relevant founding subscription remains continuously active.
12. Refunds and Australian Consumer Law
We do not generally provide refunds merely because you changed your mind, forgot to cancel or did not use the service during a paid period. Please contact us if you believe you were charged incorrectly or more than once.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law. Where the service does not meet a consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a remedy. We will assess requests fairly based on the circumstances and the law.
13. Service availability and changes
We use reasonable care to keep AuDHD Companion secure and available, but an online service can sometimes be interrupted by maintenance, updates, internet problems, service-provider outages or security work. We do not promise that every feature will always be uninterrupted or work identically on every device or browser.
If we make a material change that significantly reduces a paid service during a period you have already paid for, we will provide reasonable notice and an appropriate option or remedy where required by law. We recommend exporting important records periodically and before deleting your account.
14. Wellbeing, medication and emergency boundaries
AuDHD Companion does not diagnose ADHD, autism, AuDHD, burnout or any other condition. It does not tell you to start, stop or change medication. Pattern observations are reflections based on the information you recorded; they are not proof of cause, medical interpretation or a substitute for professional judgement.
Do not use the app as emergency or crisis support. In an urgent situation, contact local emergency services or an appropriate qualified service. Please read the full Wellbeing & Medical Disclaimer.
15. Knowledge Hub and professional use
Knowledge Hub articles and public Ask answers are general information shaped by lived experience and are not personalised medical, psychological, legal, financial or other professional advice. Ask answers appear only after editorial approval, but approval does not turn them into clinical guidance or guarantee that they suit every person or circumstance. You may take your own reports to a professional, but the professional must make their own assessment. Using the app does not create a clinician-client, therapist-client or other professional relationship with AuDHD Companion.
16. Third-party services and links
The service relies on providers such as Google Firebase and Google Cloud for infrastructure and technical web-request logging, Stripe for payment processing, and email providers such as Twilio SendGrid for operational messages. Their systems may also be subject to their own terms and privacy information. Public pages may link to independent websites for further information. We do not control an independent website simply because we link to it.
17. Our content and intellectual property
The AuDHD Companion name, branding, software, design, original Knowledge Hub material and other service content belong to us or our licensors. We give you a limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the service for your own personal, lawful purposes while your account is active.
You may download your own reports and print reasonable amounts of public educational content for personal use. You must not republish, sell or present substantial parts of our content as your own without written permission.
18. Suspension and ending access
We may temporarily restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate suspected misuse, respond to a security risk, comply with law, address non-payment or prevent harm to the service. Where practical, we will explain the issue and give you a reasonable chance to fix it before permanent closure.
We may act immediately where delay could create a serious security, legal or safety risk. You may stop using the service at any time and may delete your account through Profile, subject to the Data Deletion Policy.
19. Responsibility and liability
We are responsible where the law says we are, including for consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for loss caused solely by your misuse of the service, decisions made contrary to the app’s wellbeing boundaries, information you entered incorrectly, or events outside our reasonable control.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss that was not reasonably foreseeable and was not caused by our breach, negligence or unlawful conduct. This section does not limit rights that cannot legally be limited.
20. Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, where service providers may process it, and how you can access, correct, export or delete it. By entering optional wellbeing information, you confirm that you have read that policy and consent to the handling described there.
21. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the service, law or business changes. The latest version and date will always appear here. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes and seek fresh acceptance where required. Changes do not remove rights or remedies that arose before the change took effect.
22. Resolving concerns and governing law
Please contact us first so we have a fair opportunity to resolve a concern. These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and applicable Commonwealth laws. Nothing in this section prevents you from using a consumer-protection process or court available to you under applicable law.
If part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a right does not mean that right has been given up.
