Why am I overwhelmed all the time?

When everything feels like too much, start with the demands around you. You do not need a diagnosis to notice what changes.

Overwhelm describes an experience, not a diagnosis. A crowded schedule, decisions, interruptions or worries can leave you feeling unable to take in one more thing. Stress can involve feeling overwhelmed, but that does not establish the cause for you.

Look at the whole day

Was there one difficult event, or lots of small demands without a pause? Note noise, interruptions, decisions and what you were trying to hold in mind. Include quieter days too; comparisons are more useful than recording only the worst moments.

Make the next moment smaller

Try writing down what is competing for your attention, then choosing one thing that can wait. If it is possible, ask for a clearer priority or a short break. Notice whether that changes how manageable the situation feels.

Start noticing without a diagnosis

No diagnosis is required to use AuDHD Companion. Record what feels relevant in a check-in or private journal, then look back at changes over time. A repeated association is a question to explore, not proof of a cause.

See the app before signing up, or start free. The app supports reflection; it does not diagnose or treat a condition.

When to ask for support

If what you are noticing is new, persistent, worsening or interfering with daily life, speak with a qualified health professional. You do not need to complete a week of tracking before asking for help. Bring any notes you already have.
